Phillip is a Director at Maltbys with over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, including more than 20 years with the firm. He has built an extensive track record in cost consultancy and contract administration across a wide range of public and private sector projects, including education, health, commercial, residential, and social infrastructure.
He is known for his practical, detail-oriented approach, with deep expertise in estimating, procurement strategy, financial reporting, and acting as Engineer to the Contract. Phillip has led cost management services on projects up to $150 million in value, including complex hospital, housing, and civic infrastructure developments. He also provides trusted advisory services to major banks in his role as a Bank QS.
Phillip is a Registered Quantity Surveyor and long-standing member of NZIQS. He is also a member of the Society of Construction Contract Practitioners.
Outside of work, Phil’s interests include scuba diving, snowboarding and tennis, although away from the office he spends most of his time with his wife caring for two young children.
